Our team has rich technical expertise in areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, image and signal analysis, satellite remote sensing, and delivering software solutions to established organisations. The team also boasts of management expertise with few team members part of Said Business School at University of Oxford. Our diverse team with a complementing skill set helps us solve any problem and achieve goals that we set.

Bosco Lai

CEO

Bosco grew up in Hong Kong and Canada, and is currently based in Houston, USA. His long-term aspiration is to utilize his professional background in finance, startups and technology to expand boundaries, solve system-level problems, and be a part of the solutions which would improve people’s wellbeing, help the environment, and ultimately change the world for the better.
At Little Place Labs, he focuses on multiple areas including business development, finance, funding, and operations.

In addition, he is currently the Chief Client Officer at Innowatts, a leading AI energy data analytics firm, and a Venture Partner at Urban Us, a VC focusing on startups targeting climate change and urbanization. He has held various executive positions globally during his 13 years at Macquarie Group, including Senior Vice President in the Commodity Solutions team providing structured finance and risk management solutions.

He is a passionate entrepreneur involved in multiple ventures including an energy efficiency company and a diverse music learning center in Hong Kong, and a music production studio in Canada.

Aside from work, he is a joyful dad of two girls, adventurer, avid singer and performer. He is driven by curiosity, and inspired by good company, nature and life. As a lifelong learner, he is also pursuing an Executive MBA at the University of Oxford.

Gaurav Bajaj

CTO

Gaurav is a tech leader who was born in India and moved to London, UK about 15 years back. Gaurav is pursuing an Executive MBA at Said Business School at the University of Oxford.
At Little Place Labs, he focuses on Product, Engineering, building teams and constructing a strategic vision and path for the company. Gaurav has extensive experience within the financial services industry in the UK with particular focus on payments and cards. After finishing his undergrad in Electronics engineering, Gaurav spent his early career years as a software engineer and soon transitioned to consulting. After having worked for large organisations, Gaurav moved to working for a Silicon Valley blockchain start-up called Ripple and spent the last few years building teams, managing global clients and being responsible for multiple technology delivery projects. Gaurav is fully focused on taking Little Place Labs to next level.
Outside work, Gaurav is an avid traveller (with 44 countries flagged), into long distance cycling, dance and meditation in the mountains.

Liubov Sergeeva

COO

Liuba is originally from Ukraine and currently based in Barcelona.
Liuba is pursuing an Executive MBA at Said Business School at the University of Oxford.

At Little Place Labs, she focuses on operations and business development.

Liuba has more than 13 years of work experience in the financial sector, including working in investment banking, different international consulting projects with the EBDR, World Bank, IFC and USAID. Two years ago, she pivoted to the Health Reform Support project, helping the Government of Ukraine in its digital transformation.
Aside from work, Liuba is a mum. She is an enthusiastic mountain biker and swimmer. She loves space and is eager to build companies from scratch.

Daniel Davies

VP, Space

Daniel grew up in Israel and, in 2019, moved to Oxford to pursue an MBA at Oxford University. He is currently back in Israel leading spacecraft development projects at Astroscale that is developing satellite end-of-life and active debris removal services.
At Little Place Labs, he focuses on multiple areas, including Product, Space Engineering, business development and operations.

Daniel has more than 9 years of experience working in the Aerospace industry. Before Astroscale, he was a mechanical program manager at the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), managing end-to-end space-related programs, including three earth observation satellites worth more than $100 million each. Specialized in systems engineering, space systems development, and operations support for space programs.

Outside of work, he is a proud dad of three energetic kids. He is passionate about building and creating new stuff, loves exploring new places and learning about new cultures, and appreciates being out in nature camping with family and friends.

Qi Guo

VP, Brand & Design

In Little Place Labs, Qi’s work focuses on branding and design, as well as customer exploration work.

Before Little Place Labs, Qi has 12 years in user experience design and design management for consultancies and product companies. Her project experience reaches different sectors and continents, including the Fintech, Automotive, Marine and IT sectors in agile environments.

Qi holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design and a master's degree in Interaction Design. She is currently pursuing her Executive MBA education at the University of Oxford.

Outside her work, Qi is a ukulele player, she is also addicted to exploring the world and different cultures. She believes that there is a lot of potential out in Space, and we can make the Earth a better and greener place again via technology.

Vanessa Tan

VP, Marketing

"I am scared; please protect me, "whispered into Vanessa's ears by an abused 7-year-old girl are the six words that changed her life. An accidental storyteller, Vanessa dedicates her life to telling authentic, dignified stories and serving people from less-than-privileged circumstances.

A social worker by education and communications and fundraising professional by training, Vanessa specializes in strategic communications, philanthropy, and nonprofit management. In her former career of more than a decade, Vanessa helped resource-scarce nonprofits raise much-needed publicity and funds by improving their communications and fundraising capabilities. For her contributions in the area of children, world peace and/or human rights, Vanessa received the prestigious JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (Singapore) Award in 2015.

Currently, Vanessa works as a Senior Client Manager at WE Communications, a global public relations agency headquartered in Washington, D.C. She manages communications matters for healthcare giants such as Medtronic and Johnson & Johnson. She also actively serves as a Co-Chairperson for the fundraising committee of established mental health and suicide prevention agency, Samaritans of Singapore.

At Little Place, Vanessa continues to leverage her prowess and experience in communications to serve as the team's public relations and communications specialist while co-currently pursuing an Executive MBA education at the University of Oxford.

Apart from work, Vanessa is a mum to a beautiful boy, a West Highland Terrier, and a rescue cat. Also, an avid traveler and scuba diver, her spirit of adventure has taken her across 33 countries in 10 years and dived alongside magnificent creatures such as the whale shark, ocean sunfish, and the Great White.

Ritwika Mukhopadhyay

Geoinformatics & Earth Observation

Ritwika was born in West Bengal, India and spent her entire childhood there. She is presently pursuing her doctoral studies in the field of Forest Management at The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Umeå, Sweden. She also holds her master’s degree in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (with specialisation in Geo-informatics) and a bachelor’s degree in Forestry.
In Little Place Labs, she mainly focuses on the acquisition and analysis of geospatial data.
Previously she has extensive experiences in working with air and space borne remote sensing data for various applications, such as, road network analysis, land use land cover classification, studying species diversity in forests areas and estimation of aboveground biomass and carbon content analysis in vegetation covers. She has also worked with polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) and polarimetric SAR interferometry (PolInSAR) datasets and techniques with the objective of estimating the state of forest parameters. And, she is presently working with LiDAR data for the estimation of state and change of forest parameters and further developing a statistical framework for the same.
Apart from work, she is a trained classical dancer for the last 22 years in 3 classical dance forms (Kathak, Bharatnatyam and RabindraNritya), believes in spirituality, a passionate cook and a determined future dog mom.

Sebin John

AI | Deep Learning Specialist

Sebin John, born in India, had his childhood days in Mumbai. Currently pursuing his Masters degree in Software and Data Engineering from USI(Università della Svizzera italiana), he also completed his bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering in the year 2019.
His work in the Little place labs predominantly lies in the technical side in researching, designing and engineering the Machine learning aspect of the solution we pitch in.
In his earlier days, he used to work as a Computer Systems Engineer(Software Developer) in the banking and finance sector, developing diagnostic software solutions to prevent imminent faults in sensitive environments. He is an innovative and performance-driven hustler with a deep passion for Technology & Business. He possesses the ability to work and remain calm under pressure, suggest or take immediate plan of action and great time management skills.
Besides work, he plays the piano well, can spend hours reading or adapting a new skill and loves to travel where the mind takes him.

Mohan Raju J S

Geo-Analyst & Remote Sensing

Mohan was born in the southern part of india. Spent most of his childhood in the heart of Bangalore city. His background is in computer science and engineering and started his career in the Academics and Research sector where he worked as a Research Associate for almost 5 years in ‘Urban Informatics Lab’ at Indian Institute for Human Settlements. His area of expertise lies in scientific geo-computing, Geostatistics, Acquisition and Exploration of Geodata, Urban/Geo data analytics, Data Visualization & remote sensing. In the latter half of his career, he got his interest in geo spatial domain, this interest led him to pursue master’s in Geo-information Science and Remote sensing (specialised in Geo-informatics) from ITC - university of Twente, The netherlands. As a part of his academic curriculum, Mohan was interned at the United Nations (Geospatial Information section) in New York for six months where he assisted in providing cartographic support and geospatial information services to the Secretariat as well as the Security Council.

Currently, at LPL Mohan takes care of GIS and remote sensing part - which includes acquisition, processing and analytics of satellite imageries from various data sources such as landsat, sentinel and VIIRS.

Apart from his work, his interest in travelling to different places and exploring diverse cultures motivates him to pen down his journey and share his experience through a blog. Last but never least, He is an ambitious yogi, strongly believes in stoicism and follows buddhism philosophy to the core. In his free time he reads books mainly on mind and body connection and his ultimate goal is to attain nirvana.

Bhavin Tandel

IT & AWS Ops

With interests in working with soft computing and real world application, Bhavin pursued a master degree in Data Analysis in the United Kingdom after achieving a Bachelor in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in Pune, India. With the data boom, explored the new territory of Big Data and new technologies used to mine the data from it. He loves to automate the tasks which might be something like a daily routine or as big as infrastructure deployment on a Cloud environment.

As per the career, he has worked at many clients advising and building Big Data systems and ETL pipelines using distributed system technology. At LPL, his main focus is on deployment and operations of Machine Learning models on the AWS Cloud.
